Tilapia Exports Increase From USA

Tilapia is an important aquatic product exported to the United States by the United States, and the United States imported a significant increase in June. The import of frozen tilapia in June 2018 was 19 million pounds, an increase of 57% from the previous month. This figure is in the range of 21.2 million pounds in the first 10 years, however this is the largest increase in records from May to June since 1998.
Many industry insiders say they are just beginning to see an increase in tilapia sales, some of them believe that because the price of Basha fish is high, everyone buys tilapia prices, while others believe that US importers need to be before the tariffs take effect. Ensure inventory.
It is worth noting that imports in April (-42%) and May (-34%) were significantly lower than the average of the previous 10 years. A major factor in the reduction in imports after the Lunar New Year was the increase in terminal prices as the price of raw materials increased. Prices have fallen rapidly due to falling demand.
Prices have remained stable in the market as demand has started to pick up. If Sino-US trade implements a 10-25% tariff in September, all this may change. Just like other industries, we must wait and see.
